Skills for Care is once again #CelebratingSocialCare this April and is encouraging all social care organisations and people working in social care to join in.

Skills for Care launched this campaign for the first time in 2022, making this the fourth year of celebration. Social care plays such a vital role in people’s lives, meaning that it’s crucial that we take the time to recognise the dedication, compassion, and hard work taking place in our sector every single day.

By celebrating social care, it allows us to not only recognising the amazing work done by the sector, but the achievements of the people who are able to live fulfilling lives while being supported by it.

To help as many people as possible get involved this year, Skills for Care has produced a selection of assets to support people with getting involved in the celebrations including social media posts, images, selfie cards and an email signature for people to use.

Make sure to use #CelebratingSocialCare and tag Skills for Care (@skillsforcare) in social media posts.

Messages you may wish to share on social media could include:

  • a thank you to your team or a colleague for their hard work
  • a shoutout to a team member for a recent achievement
  • a photo of your team or the people you support
  • an update of a recent activity or event you’ve run or been involved in
  • a reason why you love working in social care
  • a message about why #CelebratingSocialCare is so important
  • any other positive news or story from your organisation.

Skills for Care has also created a list of celebratory activities which organisations and individuals can do as part of #CelebratingSocialCare in April. This could include open days, awards, and social events.

Visit our campaign landing page to find out more about about getting involved.
