Adopting the Pathway can involve making changes to your recruitment and people performance processes.

These resources focus on how the Pathway can help you attract and keep the right staff.

There are many ways to approach recruiting and retaining staff in your organisation. A strengths-based approach can help widen your talent pool by recruiting individuals based on the strengths they bring to an adult social care role. Strengths are the innate characteristics that shape our instinctive ways of thinking, feeling and behaving.

Implementing a values-based approach to attracting and retaining the right staff

Many organisations in adult social care already use a values-based approach, which can also be used in line with the Pathway. This model helps employers to understand a candidate’s values, behaviours and attitudes, and assess whether they align with the culture and expectations of their organisation. Resources are available to help you implement values-based recruitment using the 5As model- Articulate, Attract, Apply, Assess and Assimilate.
