Our #BuildingDigitalConfidence campaign, aims to simplify digital technology for people in social care, showcasing its benefits for both professionals and those drawing on care and support.
Throughout November and December, our campaign will focus on helping those working in adult social care to further explore using digital technology.
It’s important that we look to increase the digital capabilities of those working in our sector as we move into the future. The ‘Workforce Strategy for Adult Social Care’, which launched in July, highlighted increased digital skills as a priority if the sector is to be able to satisfy the increasing demand for high quality social care services.
In recent years, the adult social care sector in England has significantly advanced in its use of technology to enhance the level of care. The proportion of people drawing on care and support in England with a digital social care record (DSCR) has risen from just 50% to an anticipated 80% by March 2025. Currently, tens of thousands of individuals are benefiting from digital technology in the sector.
The campaign will include blogs and real-life insights from digital experts and social care organisations who have effectively introduced digital ways of working. By highlighting the positive impact of digital solutions, we hope to encourage a more comfortable and confident approach to technology in the sector.
