Discover our nurse leadership programme designed specifically for internationally educated registered nurses. Build leadership skills, enhance your confidence, and advance your career in social care.

Internationally educated registered nurses play a vital role in the adult social care workforce and so we’ve developed this programme to ensure that they have the knowledge and skills to be a confident and effective leader whilst working in social care in England.

It’s important that internationally recruited registered nurses feel valued and supported and so we’ll provide them with the tools and techniques needed to better lead themselves and others, to understand their boundaries and to understand the role of the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). We’ll also explore what social care is and how social care and health work together. It’s a fantastic opportunity to meet other internationally educated nurses and form a support network.

To be eligible for the programme, participants must have:

  1. their NMC PIN and
  2. have been in the UK for less than two years.

Aims of the programme and learning outcomes

  • to further develop leadership skills
  • to identify and address strengths and what areas for leadership development.
  • to be more confident in professional decision making and maintaining boundaries
  • to enhance critical reflection skills
  • to have a greater understanding of the role of a registered nurse working in the health and care system in England
  • to develop a professional network including other internationally educated registered nurses
  • to have a greater understanding of the values and ethics that guide professional nursing practice.
