This #GoodNewsFriday we’re saying a big thank you to everyone who joined in on #CelebratingSocialCare with us throughout April.
As April draws to a close we’re coming to the end of our #CelebratingSocialCare campaign and we’re so delighted to see the great wave of positivity that the campaign spread across the social care sector.
The celebrations really struck a chord with so many of you. It’s not often you get the opportunity to shout about the great work you do and we’re proud to have given you reason to do so.
Thank you so much to everyone for getting involved and sharing your wonderful news and updates with us, we loved seeing every single one.
To round-up the campaign we’ve put together a collection of just some of the lovely celebrations you shared with us.
Celebrating with a poem
Urmston Manor shared a lot of moving posts through the month, with their staff sharing what they love about working in care. This included a fabulous poem from their team member Kirsty which really captured what it means to work in social care.
You can watch a video of Kirsty reading the poem on the Urmston Manor Facebook page.
Talking about why she loves working at Urmston Manor Kirsty said:
A musical surprise
We were so happy that Calton House shared a special moment with us when they surprised one of the people who they support with concert tickets.
Watching the video put a big smile on all our faces.
You can watch this special moment on the Calton House Facebook page.
Sharing selfies
We loved seeing so many of you using our selfie cards to join in the celebrations.
Thank you to each and every one of you who shared your selfies with us, including wonderful messages about your colleagues, your roles and the people who you support.
This included a wonderful selfie video collage created by SLW Care. And a selfie taken at the top of Mount Snowdon with a team member from Bluestones Medical Complex Care and one of the people they support.
Saying thank you
We saw so many of you taking time this month to shout out your colleagues and say thank you. It was so wonderful to read and listen to your words of recognition for your teammates and the great work you all do.
You can view all of the celebrations by searching the #CelebratingSocialCare hashtag on social media.
And that’s not the end of the celebrations. We share a good news story from the sector with our regular #GoodNewsFriday article.
