Nightingale Hammerson receives the 2024 London regional finalist’s Care Home Employer Award

We hear how a London care provider has won some regional titles at the Great British Care Awards and is going to the final in March 2025!

The Great British Care Awards are a series of regional events throughout the UK and celebrate excellence within the care sector. The purpose of the awards platform is to pay tribute to those individuals and organisations that demonstrate outstanding excellence within our sector.

Nightingale Hammerson is a charity who is 185 years young and provides residential, nursing, dementia and palliative care for over 200 residents in their London homes. They were in attendance at the recent event and were nominated for the following awards:

  • Jeremiah Akintunde: the frontline leader (finalist)
  • Engagement Team: care home team (finalist)
  • Nightingale Hammerson: care employer: (winner)

The team were delighted to share that Nightingale Hammerson won The Care Home Employer Award and go through to the national finals, which will be held on the March 14 2025 at the ICC in Birmingham.

A Great British Care Awards representative said:

Nightingale Hammerson operates two nursing homes, caring for residents aged 69 to 106. The homes offer a holistic care approach, and it was clear from speaking to them that they address residents' physical, emotional, and psychological needs. Nightingale Hammerson ensures exceptional care, prioritising staff’s well-being to maintain the highest care standard. They were a pleasure to speak to and a deserving winner.

The team at Nightingale Hammerson provide a wealth of support, from day to day activities, uplifting events and safe and enjoyable outings for residents. Moreover, the team give a huge amount of joy, companionship and friendship for so many. In doing so, they also provide an enormous level of support to our care teams, so they can focus on ensuring residents’ well-being, safety, dignity and comfort are at the forefront of our provision of outstanding care.
