Skills for Care

  • Good news story

Care provider Dolphin Homes planned a calendar of fun festive activities across their homes through December, including Christmas Jumper Day and tree decorating.

The care provider which specialises in providing support for people with a learning or physical disability planned a variety of seasonal fun for the people they support.

The events included:

  • Elf Day on 2 December
  • Christmas Jumper Day on 8 December
  • Christmas Hat Day on 16 December
  • Christmas tree decorating competition

Elf Day saw the organisation search for the best dressed elf among their homes, encouraging people to get dressed up as an elf on the day and share their photos. Christmas Jumper Day and Christmas Hat Day also encouraged people to wear their most festive accessories, or even design their own.

As well as providing some seasonal fun, the events also aimed to raise awareness for the Alzheimer’s Society and brain tumour research.

The provider also ran a Christmas tree decorating competition, encouraging each of their homes to get creative with an impressively decorated competition.
