A number of organisations across the country have been hosting various celebrations and awards events for people working in social care. We're delighted to hear all about them for our #CelebratingSocialCare spotlight.
Northants Registered Managers Network event
On 11 March 2022 the Northants Registered Managers Network held a celebration event at Hilton Northampton.
The theme of the event was that of celebration and thanks, with video thank you messages from Jane Townson, Chief Executive of the Home Care Association and Vic Rayner, CEO of the National Care Forum.
It included speeches from the Vice Lord Lieutenant of Northamptonshire Morcea Walker MBE, the Director of Adult Social Services at West Northants local authority, and the Stronger Together staff wellbeing hub. There was also an ‘information marketplace’ including stalls hosted by the Northamptonshire Virtual Wellbeing Festival, the University of Northampton, the wellbeing hub, and the East Midlands Academic Health Science Network.
There was plenty of fun to be had, including a free raffle with prizes that included signed books and afternoon tea vouchers, and a wellbeing session with a laughter yoga instructor.
The event received some great feedback, with one attendee saying:

The awards recognised 17 individuals and two care teams as winners and finalists in awards for going ‘the extra mile’ and making a significant difference to the lives of people drawing on care and support across the county.
The event was opened with a message from MP and Minister of State for Care and Mental Health, Gillian Keegan who commented on the exceptional contribution and commitment of all of the nominees and the moving examples of high quality care being provided across West Sussex.
