Supporting Black and Asian minoritised groups who are managers or aspiring managers looking to progress in their career but are facing blockages and resistance preventing them from doing so. 

Aimed at Black and Asian minoritised groups who are leaders or aspiring leaders and want to develop themselves and progress in their career at all levels, in all roles, in all types of social care and health organisations. 

Previous participants have come from local government, social care, commissioning organisations, charities, third sector, nurses and occupational health. 

The programme has had a significant impact on the participants who’ve taken part over the last 12 years. It’s important to offer opportunities and support to people who are Black or Asian and wish to fulfil their career goals.

Learning outcomes

  • Boost your confidence and self-belief to help you grow and progress in your career.
  • Develop and understand your personal brand: learn how people perceive you and how to raise your profile within your organisation.

Delivery 

Delivered through blended learning, this programme combines self-learning modules with three live online sessions - accessed via the Skills for Care virtual learning environment. It equips you with the tools to better understand and focus on your organisation, helping you to shape and influence your career progression with confidence and clarity.

You are also invited to join our online informal coffee mornings via Zoom.

 

The online workshops

Completion of the self-learning modules and full attendance at the three online workshops is a mandatory requirement of the programme.

These sessions support your learning and development, offering a safe space to share what you’ve learned, discuss challenges, and celebrate your successes.

Take advantage of this opportunity to build meaningful connections, exchange valuable insights, and learn from your colleagues and feel supported throughout your leadership journey. (There is no formal requirement to attend the coffee mornings)
